CanadaHelps Welcomes Lys Hugessen as VP, Partnerships and Special Projects

We’re delighted to share that Lys Hugessen has joined CanadaHelps as our new VP, Partnerships and Special Projects. Many of our charity partners and people in the sector know Lys as our longtime partner at the GIV3 Foundation, where she served as President for nine years. Together, we launched and grew GivingTuesday Canada and the Great Canadian Giving Challenge to be important movements for giving in this country, and we will continue to do so now that Lys is officially part of the CanadaHelps team.

In Lys’ new role, she’ll continue to focus on leading GivingTuesday alongside our broader team, further growing our commitment to this important movement we co-founded back in 2013. She will also work on our various partnerships, bringing her extensive experience as a marketing and research professional to support our efforts in these areas.

Aside from her track record in the charitable sector, Lys also brings 30+ years experience in marketing and research at Johnson & Johnson and Ipsos Canada. She also led research at Sector3Insights, a social enterprise bringing state of the art research tools from the corporate world to the non-profit sector. Lys holds an MBA in Marketing from McGill, and a B.A. in Psychology from Queen’s University.
